Huun Bianco – Yucatan Mexico

$19.25

Huun – the Mayan word for paper, is also the tree that has been used in paper-making for hundreds of years. This ancient practice in the Yucatan was completely lost until 1985, when Project Huun for sustainable community development was initiated. Today, this paper is made by Maya-Yucatec artisans who combine Washi techniques with the ancient techniques of the Mayans. Huun paper is 100% alfa-cellulose, made from selected plant fibres such as Sanseviera (Mother-in-law’s Tongue) and Cattail. Both are renewable, their use does no damage to the environment.
